Happy Nurses Week 2025!
The National Nurses Week theme this year is “The Power of Nurses.” We take this week every year to celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and compassion that define our nursing community. I consider each of you as a real-life superhero—no cape required.
You bring healing with your hands, comfort with your words, and strength with your presence. Whether you are holding a patient or family’s hand during difficult times, making split second decisions in critical situations, or simply offering a kind smile to ease anxiety, your superpowers shine through every day.
Nurses are the heart of our care team and the strength behind so many success stories. Your influence goes far beyond the bedside—you advocate, you educate, you lead. You are a trusted guide during people’s most vulnerable moments. And like true heroes, you often do it all without expecting recognition. But this week, we want to make sure you feel it—you are seen, valued, and appreciated.
In the face of constant change and challenge, your resilience never waivers. You’ve continued to adapt, lead, and inspire through evolving technologies, new workflows, and complex patient needs. Your power isn’t just in what you do – it’s in who you are.
I am endlessly proud to work alongside you. As a nurse myself, I understand the weight and the joy of this calling. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the incredible work you do—often quietly, but always powerfully. You are role models, trailblazers, and innovators.
The future of nursing is full of potential, and with heroes like you, it’s in the best hands possible. Let’s continue to embrace that power—lifting each other up, learning together, and creating an even stronger, more compassionate future for healthcare.
You are the quiet heroes who rarely ask for recognition, but this week, we shout it from the rooftops: You are extraordinary. You are essential. You are powerful.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ruby Brewer, MSN/MBA, RN, NEA-BC
